ALETHA BUSSANMAS, Bevington

Aletha Bussanmas, 89, died Fr., July 5, 1991, at her home in Bevington. Rosary services were held July 6 at Collins Funeral Home, Winterset, and July 7 at Assumption Church, Churchville. A funeral service was held July 9 at the church with the Father John Lorenz officiating.

A lifetime area resident, she was born to William and Lurie Etta (McDonald) Leach May 2, 1902, in Madison County. She married Sylvester James Bussanmas, January 7, 1925 at St. Joseph's Church, Winterset. She was a homemaker and postmistress and a member of Bevington Garden Club, Altar Society, American Legion World War I Auxiliary and Church of the Assumption, Churchville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, nine sisters, one grandchild, and one great-great-grandchild.

Survivors are five sons, James F., Jerry, and Otto, all of Bevington, Phil of Prole, and Jack of Norwalk; a daughter, Joan Bailiff of Wick; a sister, Wilda McManus of Des Moines; 22 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Churchville.

ALETHA BUSSANMAS

BEVINGTON, IA. – Services for Aletha Bussanmas of Bevington will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of the Assumption in Churchville, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery there. Mrs. Bussanmas died of a heart attack Friday at home. She was 89.

Mrs. Bussanmas, a lifelong Madison County resident, was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bevington Garden Club, the American Legion World War I Auxiliary and her church’s Altar Society.

Survivors include five sons, James F., Jerry and Otto, all of Bevington, Phil of Prole and Jack of Norwalk; a daughter, Joan Bailiff of Wick; a sister, Wilda McManus of Des Moines; 22 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, where the family will be present after 1 p.m. and a rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a visitation from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
