Wednesday, February 9, 1972S. J. "JIM" BUSSANMAS, Bevington
S. J. (Jim) Bussanmas of Bevington, member of a pioneer family in that community, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 1972, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He was 73 years of age.
Mr. Bussanmas was a life-long resident of the Bevington community. He was born there Aug. 16, 1898, a son of Otto and Julia Mueller Bussanmas. On Jan. 7, 1925, he was married to Aletha Leach of Winterset, who survives him.
Mr. Bussanmas was a member of the Church of the Assumption at Churchville, and was active in the Knights of Columbus, having served as Grand Knight of the Indianola council. He was also a commander of the World War I Veterans barracks at Winterset, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Joann Baliff of Wick; five sons, James, Otto and Jerry Bussanmas of Bevington, Phillip Bussanmas of Prole and John Bussanmas of Norwalk; a brother, Valentine Bussanmas of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Friar of Des Moines and Mrs. Dora Thorman of Granville. He also leaves 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A parish rosary was recited Monday evening from the parish hall of the Church of the Assumption at Churchville, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary.
Funeral services were held from Assumption church Tuesday, with burial in Calvary cemetery at Churchville.
