Florence Bruett, 84, of Winterset died of pneumonia Monday at Madison County Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of which she was a member. Burial will be in Winterset Cemetery.
Mrs. Bruett, a homemaker, was born in Scranton and lived in the Winterset area most of her life. She was a member of Farm Bureau and United Methodist Women.
Among survivors are a son, Donald of Winterset; a daughter, Mary Bruett of West Des Moines; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

Page 4B, Column 3,4Funeral services for Florence Mae Bruett, 84, were held July 1 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Burial was in Winterset Cemetery. Bruett died June 29 at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
Florence Mae Thompson was born July 14, 1907, to W.H. and Charlottie Clews Thompson. She married Otis Bruett January 14, 1931 at West Star Parsonage in Madison County. The couple lived in Madison County most of their lives where Florence was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a charter member of Buffalo Gals, member of Hoosier Prairie Club, Qui Vive and Farm Bureau. Survivors include a son, Don Wayne and Linda Bruett; one daughter, Mary Joan Bruett of West Des Moines, and grandchildren Richard and Randall Bruett and Linda Sue Pinneda.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, a sister and three brothers and sisters in infancy.
Memorials may be made to the Madison County Elderly Services.
