Funeral services for Otis Cline Bruett, 70, of rural Winterset were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery with Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Mr. Bruett died Saturday, May 19 at his home.
Born on January 14, 1909, in Madison County, he was the son of Charles Nathan and DeVonna (Cline) Bruett. He was married to Florence Mae Thompson on January 14, 1931 at the West Star Parsonage in Madison County by Rev. Art Weed.
Mr. Bruett farmed in Madison and Clarke Counties and was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and Pork Producers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and Charles (Buster) Bruett; and two sisters, Zola Gentry and Freeda Grulke.
Survivors include a son, Donald Wayne Bruett of Winterset; a daughter, Mary Jo Bruett of West Des Moines; a brother, Clifford Bruett of Winterset; two sisters, Mary Kirby and Margaret DeVault both of Winterset and three grandchildren.
