18 September 1996Ward William LeCocq, 79, of Winterset, died of stroke complications on Sept. 15, 1996 at Care Center North in Winterset. Funeral services will be held today, Sept. 18 1996, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Bill Branson will officiate the 1:30 p.m. services and burial will follow at the Winterset Cemetery.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1916 in Truro to Reuben and Ethel (Davis) LeCocq. On April 19, 1934, he married Maxine Severns in Indianola. He was a retired and life-time resident of Madison County.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Surviving relatives include one son, Larry LeCocq and wife Judy of Plano, Texas; two daughters, Shirley Ridley and husband Dick of East Greenwich, R.I. and Sandy Wenck and husband Lanny of Winterset; one brother, Claude LeCocq of Winterset; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
