Myrtle Esther Clark Comp, 89, died April 22, 1993, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held April 26 at the First Christian Church, with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Comp was born June 19, 1903, at St. Joseph, Mo. to John and Lenora (Tilton) Cessna. She married Vernon Clark June 1, 1924, at Nashua. After his death in 1970, she married Joseph L. Comp on May 2, 1981, in Winterset. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Madison County for 34 years. She was a charter member of the Madison County Historical Society and was a past matron and grand officer of the Eastern Star Lodge. She also was a member of the Tri-L Club, the Winterset Music Club and the Winterset Faculty Club. She was a member at First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by both her husbands and one brother. Surviving relatives include one daughter, Janice Peebler and husband Richard of Des Moines; a brother Austin Cessna and wife Mae of Denton, Texas; one stepson, J.L. Comp of Cedar City Utah; three grandchildren, Rhonda Niblo, Michael and Sandra Peebler; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
