Mabelle Smith, 91, of Winterset, died July 4, 1994 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be July 7 at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset. The Rev. David Bauer will officiate with burial at the Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be today, July 6, from noon until 9 p.m.
She was born October 4, 1902 in Highland Center to Charles F. and Verna (Hochreiter) Price. She married Arling Smith in Cedar Rapids on June 8, 1941. She was a legal secretary and a former teacher at the Patterson school and taught at the Cedar Rapids schools in the 1930's. She lived in Winterset since 1942 and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church where she was choir director and a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Madison County Historical Society, Winterset Women's Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Winterset Music Club, Antique Association, Apple Tree Players and Past Matrons.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister. Surviving relatives include one niece, Ruth Briggs and husband Robert of Winfield.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Thursday, First United Methodist Church, Winterset.
Committal services: 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home, Winterset.
There are no immediate survivors.
