Graveside services for Myra Newton, 102, Winterset, who died Aug. 7, 1988, at her residence, were held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Winterset Cemetery with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating.

Born in Madison County on June 2, 1886, she was the daughter of Edgar and Julia Etta Hircock Harrell. She was married to Glen Newton on Sept. 18, 1907 at Winterset. She was a lifetime resident.

Survivors include daughters, Lois Breeding of Winterset and Phyllis Lorton of Houston, Texas; a sister, Mary Gordon of Aumsville, Ore.; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, five brothers and four sisters.
