DEATH OF MRS. BELLES

Mrs. Eliza E. Belles, life-long resident of Iowa, died in Winterset on August 10, at the home of her niece, Mrs. Mart Welch. Mrs. Belles was 77 years old.

She was the daughter of James and Azubah Cramner, and was born in Redfield on March 6, 1857. Her girlhood was spent in that town, where she received her education. On November 16, 1879, she was married to Thomas Belles. He died 10 years ago.

As a young woman, Mrs. Belles united with the Christian church at Redfield, where she retained membership until the time of her death. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Chloe Russell, of Redfield, and Mrs. Lacey Swanson, of San Francisco, Cal.; three nieces, Mrs. S. C. Welch and Mrs. Alice Patterson of Earlham, and Mrs. Mart Welch, of Winterset; and three nephews, Orville Swanson, of Slater, Hobart Swanson, of San Francisco, and Charles Cramner, of Drusey, Oregon.

Funeral rites were conducted at 2 p.m. August 12, at the home of Mrs. Mart Welch. The Rev. W. C. Porter, of the U. P. church, was in charge. Burial was made at Redfield.
