Mrs. John C. Spera died at her farm home west of Winterset, where she had lived the past 30 years of her life, on Sunday, May 20, 1944. She was 77 years of age.
Mrs. Spera was a native of Pennsylvania, where she was born at Allen, on Dec. 15, 1866. She was the former Anetta Drager, daughter of Conrad and Charlotte Drager.
She was married to John C. Spera of Carlisle, Pa., on Nov. 26, 1888. They later moved to Illinois, and 30 years ago they came to Madison county and settled on the farm west of Winterset.
She was a member of the United Brethren church, which she joined at Bolling Springs, Pa., when she was 14 years old. She was a member of Crown Rebekah lodge for nearly forty years.
She is survived by her husband; four sons, Guy Spera of Dubuque, and Raymond, William and Kenneth Spera, all of Winterset. She leaves one brother, William Drager of Bolling Springs, Pa., and one grandaughter, Beverly Spera of Dubuque.
Funeral services were held here from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Reed Kessler of Stuart, Tuesday. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
