Ward S. Jordan, a young resident of near Winterset, died at his home here Sunday at the age of 24 years. He had been in poor health for many years.

The young man was the son of Forrest and Daisy Jordan and was born in Monroe township Sept. 23, 1918. His life was spent in this county.

He is survived by his father; five brothers and sisters, Lee, Ralph Treva and Carol Jordan at home and Donald Jordan of the Army Air Force; and his grandfather, P. E. Neely of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Winterset Methodist Church, in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp, pastor. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

WARD S. JORDAN DIED AUGUST 29

Ward S. Jordan, son of Forrest Jordan of near Winterset, died Sunday, August 29, at his home near Winterset, after a long period of intermittent illness. He was 24 years old. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Wednesday, September 1, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. W. A. Samp was in charge of the service. Interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Ward Sidney Jordan, oldest son of Daisy E. and Forrest Jordan, was born in Monroe township on September 23, 1918. He united with the Methodist church at an early age. His mother preceded him in death on December 26, 1940. He had been in ill health for the past fourteen years.

He is survived by his father, three brothers, Lee, Ralph and Donald, who at the time of his death was stationed at Amarillo,Tex., with the Army Air Corps; two sisters, Treva and Carol; one grandfather, P E. Neeley of Winterset, and many other relatives and a host of friends.
