Freda M. Burns, Truro

Services from Freda Mabel Burns, 82, Truro, who died Sept. 8 at her home, were held Monday, Sept. 11, at Kale Funeral Home with the Rev. Tapiwa Mucherera officiating. Burial was at the Ebenezer Cemetery.

Born April 23, 1907 at Peru, she was the daughter of Homer and Elsie Landis See. She was graduated from Peru schools and was married June 6, 1928 in Winterset to Robert C. Burns.

Mrs. Burns was a cook at Truro High School until she retired. She was a member of the Thursday Girls group at Truro, a former member of Ivy chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Barbara Traster and husband Chuck of Indianola and Linda Brommel and husband Mervin of Waukee; sons, Robert and wife Linda of Newton and Billy and wife Sharon of Lewisville, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a brother Bill See of Peru; and a sister, Bessie Beeler of Truro.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
