ARLENE E. WILLISON THRAILKILL

Arlene E. Willison Thrailkill, 94, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 14 at the Dexter Methodist Church, with burial at the Dexter Cemetery.

Mrs. Thrailkill was born February 12, 1909 in Anita, Iowa to Bert and Nancy Gissibl Willison. She received her teaching certificate from Simpson College and taught school for four years. She married Chester H. Thrailkill on April 18, 1931. They lived and farmed in the Dexter area for 53 years before moving to Adel in 1983. He passed away in 1993. They enjoyed their winters in Apache Junction, AZ.

Mrs. Thrailkill was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Hannah Caldwell Chapter of the DAR in Davenport. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sewing, crocheting, quilting and gardening.

She is survived by a son, Chester (Nylene) of Pleasanton, CA.; three daughters, Shirley (James) Crosman of Adell, Barbara Halpin of Bettendorf, IA and Treva (Jon) Davis of Springville, IA; a sister, Dorothy Fines of Clearwater, FL; eight grandchidren and eleven great grandchildren. Besides her husband she is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one son-in-law.

Friends may call after noon Sunday at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel and family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
