Funeral services were observed Monday October 4 at 1:30 p.m. from First United Methodist Church of Winterset for Eldon Lee Wilson, 82, a lifetime resident of Madison County.
Born May 12, 1894, in Webster township, Mr. Wilson was the son Clark S. Wilson and Mary Hall Wilson. His marriage to Carita Mae Neely took place November 24, 1920, at Greenfield, Iowa.
Mr. Wilson was affiliated with Oak Grove Methodist Church. He operated a tire shop for 28 years in Winterset and for 14 years was an assistant of Dr. James Hollen, D.V.M., retiring from the veterinary office in 1949.
Surviving Mr. Wilson are three sons, Marvin Wilson of Winterset; Richard C. Wilson of Iowa City; Arnold Wilson of Harrisonville, Missouri, and two daughters, Hazel Dawn Whingher of Cincinnati, Ohio and Carolyn Jamison of Dubuque.
Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and one brother, Roy Wilson of Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on August 26, 1964, five brothers and five sisters.Officiating at Monday's service was Rev. Paul Bousfield of Winterset Methodist Church with burial at the Winterset Cemetery.
