19 February 1992Funeral services for Martha K. Paton, 81, were held Tues., Feb. 18 at First United Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Bauer officiating. Miss Paton died February 15 of a heart ailment at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, Des Moines.
She was born January 23, 1911 in Chariton to Peter and Lulu (Graham) Paton and moved to Winterset 63 years ago. She was a retired legal secretary, having worked for Gordon Darling Law Firm for 50 years and was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star, Winterset Cemetery Association, Studious Moderns,Iowa Travel Club and recently completed work on the Madison County Cancer Drive.
She was preceded in death by four brothers. Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home, and burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
