Succumbs to Heart Attack During Night Last Thursday
Walter Holliday, a resident of Winterset, the last four years, died suddenly last Friday morning of a heart attack. He had been in his usual health the preceding day, although he complained of not feeling well when he retired Thursday night. Death came at 1:30 a.m. Friday. He was 62 years of age.
Mr. Holliday was born May 5, 1884, in Adair county, the youngest son of William J. Holliday, a native of Ireland, and Matilda Anderson, a native of Sweden. His life was spent in farming in Adair county, although he was employed for some time at the Frey hatchery in Winterset after moving here.
He was married to Nora Wambold at Creston on Feb. 20, 1929. He is survived by his wife; a foster son, Clyde; and three brothers, William J. and James E. Holliday, both of Greenfield, and Frank R. Holliday of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the funeral home in Greenfield, in charge of the Rev. Wilbur Watkins of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Greenfield cemetery.
