GERALD CLOPTON Died Friday

Gerald E. Clopton of Winterset died Friday, March 30, 1973, at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines after an illness of about two months. He was 6l years of age.

Mr. Clopton was a life-long resident of the Winterset community. He was born here October 13, 1911, a son of Robert R. and Bertha Beem Clopton.

He was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of the Christian Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Mr. Clopton was married at Omaha on September 21, 1946 to June Little.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Grosekemper of Ft. Madison; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Clopton of Winterset; two grandchildren; a brother, Earl Clopton of Winterset; and two sisters, Mrs. Cleo Williams and Mrs. Marjorie Jackson both of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral Home here, conducted by the Rev. Eldon E. Jandebeur. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
