Dr. L. E. Foster, Greenfield, Dies

Former Winterset Resident Became Prominent in Greenfield

Dr. L. E. Foster, a native of Winterset but a resident of Greenfield for many years, died at his home there last Friday, March 12. He was 59 years of age.

Doctor Foster was one of Adair county's leading citizens. He had been an official of the Adair County bank for many years. He was a Mason, past president of the Greenfield Service club and Adair County Fair association, past commander of the Greenfield American Legion post, and chairman of the Adair county draft board during the recent war.

He was born in Winterset, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ash Foster, and graduated from the Winterset high school. He studied veterinary medicine in Chicago, and after receiving his degree he started the practice of his profession in Greenfield, about 1912. He had lived there since that time.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Jack B. Foster of Boulder, Colo; two grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ash Foster of Denver; and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Gates of Denver.

Funeral services and burial were held at Greenfield Monday.
