Funeral services for Mildred L. McKee, 70, who died September 19, 1990, at Urbandale Care Center, Urbandale were held at Keating-Linsay Golden Rule Funeral Home on Sat. Sept. 22 with Dr. M. Wayne Clark officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Mildred was born January 24, 1920 to Fred and Lula (McGinnis) Lewis in Adair County. She was married to Donald McKee on October 21, 1962.

In 1937, Mildred moved from Adair County to Bedford and resided there until moving to Winterset in 1952 where she worked in the treasurer's office for many years. She moved to Creston in 1969 where Donald and she owned and operated the Capitan Motel until 1973. From 1975 until her retirement in 1983, Mildred was the Creston City Clerk.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Creston. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara A. McDonald of Des Moines and Janet L. Schulze of Mission, Kan.; a step-daughter, Marcia Weis of Atlantic and a step-son, Maurice McKee of Coon Rapids, Minn. Also surviving is a sister, Verna Cox of Bedford and a brother Duane Lewis of Empire, Colo.
