A memorial service was held for Bird A. Patterson Wiley Friday evening, July 7 in San Diego, Cal.
Mrs. Wiley was born in Madison county in 1891 and lived in Winterset until 1972 when she moved to San Diego with her daughter Clyde Bird Addy.
She was a member of the National Music Federation, founded the Winterset Music Appreciation Club and taught piano lessons in Winterset for 57 years. She was an active member of the Winterset Christian Church, where she was organist for many years. Other activities included the Winterset Antique Club, Art Center and Sweet Adelines.
In San Diego, Mrs. Wiley was a member of Pioneer United Church of Christ and attended craft and creative writing classes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.D. and Sarah Clyde Bird Patterson; brother Bradley M. Patterson; and her daughter Priscilla R. Wiley Null. Survivors include her daughter Clyde Bird Addy, grandchildren Claudia S. Burris and Mathew F. Null and great-grandson Eric Burris, all of San Diego, Cal.
Interment was at Cypress View Mausoleum in San Diego. Memorial funds have established at the Winterset Christian Church and San Diego Youth Symphony.
