DONALD McKEE Dies at Creston

Donald E. McKee of Creston died Saturday, August 25, 1973, at Greater Community Hospital in that city. He was 57 years of age.

Mr. McKee was a native of Douglas Township in this county, and was a resident of the Winterset community most of his life. He was born April 2, 1916, a son of John L. and Elsie Addy McKee. He engaged in farming for many years and spent 10 years in the employ of the Winterset Cooperative Elevator Asso. Six years ago he moved to Creston where he operated the El Capitan Motel. He retired in April of this year because of ill health.

He was a member of the Creston Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge.

As a young man he was married to Edith Miller. Her death occurred n 1956. Their daughter, Margann, died in 1955.

In 1962 he was married to Mildred Miller, who survives him. He also leaves four children, Maurice McKee of Anoka, Minn.; Mrs. Marcia Steensen of Adair; Mrs. Barbara McDonald of Des Moines; and Mrs. Janet Owens of Memphis, Tenn. Also surviving are six grandchildren; and two brothers, Melvin McKee of Denver, Colo., and Gayle McKee of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Heber Miller of Creston. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery with Masonic ritual at the graveside.
