FLORENCE A. NEELY

Florence A. Neely 93, of Winterset died of heart failure Jan. 14, 2002 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Rev. Robert Barrick officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. today at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Burial will be at the Lorimor Cemetery.

Florence Neely was born March 8, 1908 to Pinckney and Sarah (Routh) Neely of Lorimor. Following her graduation from Winterset High School in 1926, she taught for 14 years in the rural school system in Madison County. She and her sister, Vera, also had operated a poultry and egg business for eight years. Additionally, Florence worked for the Farmers & Merchants State Bank in Winterset, retiring after 25 years as a teller and bookkeeper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and four brothers. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may directed to the First United Methodist Church or Middle River Hospice both in Winterset.
