ALFERD BINNS Funeral Friday

November 12, 1975

A farmer born and raised in Webster township, Alferd Binns, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1975, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was 71 years old, a resident of Webster Township in Madison County all of his life.

Alferd Binns was born January 11, 1904, the son of Nathan Binns and Martha Jane Howard Binns. He was married to Emma Gene Gonseth June 19, 1937 in Winterset.

A farmer and livestock producer by profession, Mr. Binns also engaged in hunting and trapping throughout his life. He never moved from Madison County.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Gene, a son, Earl Binns of Winterset and two daughters, Katherine Herrick of Winterset and Mary Ann Garrison of Des Moines. Also four grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

Also surviving Mr. Binns is a brother, Fred Binns of Winterset and a sister, Merie Busch of Marion, Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Funeral services for Alferd Binns were conducted Friday, November 7, 1975 from Collins Funeral Home in Wintersest, the Rev. Charles Updike presiding. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
