Arthur W. Binns, a life-time resident of Madison County, died at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset last Sunday, December 9, 1973. He was 74 years of age. Mr. Binns was born in Madison County on October 14, 1899, the son of Nathan and Martha Howard Binns. He was married at Winterset on March 29, 1931 to Gladys Eivins.
Mr. Binns devoted most of his lifetime to farming in Webster Township. In recent years, he had made his residence in Winterset, where he was affiliated with the First United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys, and a son, Dean, both of Winterset. He is also survived by one sister, Merie Busch of Marion, Mont., and two brothers, Fred Binns and Alferd Binns, both of Winterset. Mr. Binns was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon, December 12, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. Alan Parker officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.

Among the relatives of the Arthur Binns family who came some distance to attend his funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Troy Binns, Mr. Vern Binns, and Mr. S. T. Binns, all of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bush of Greenfield; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Young of Creston; and Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Eivins of Des Moines.
