SUSIE BINNS DIES AT 86

Susie M. (Mattie) Binns died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1981 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 86 years of age.

Born on Sept. 9, 1894, she was the daughter of James Albert Harrison and Viola Rebecca Clement.

She was married to Everett Lee Binns on Dec. 25, 1913, in Madison County. They were local residents all their lives. Mr. Binns passed on in 1963. Until recently, Susie cared for the elderly in their homes.

Susie was preceded in death by her husband; father and mother, a sister, Tuttsie Hulbert; and a grandaughter, Leona Binns.

She is survived by a son, Wesley Binns of Davenport; a daughter, Wilma Hinricks of Des Moines; four sisters, Isadora Mabbitt, Daisy Mapes, Rosey Davis, all of Winterset, and Lillian Pettit of Creston.

Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. David Livingston officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
