Gladys E. Binns, 70, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 1978, at Memorial Hospital in Winterset. She was born March 29, 1907, in Madison County, the daughter of Isaac Newton and Ida V. Bates Eivins.

A 1926 graduate of Macksburg Consolidated High School, Mrs. Binns was married to Arthur Binns on March 29, 1931. She was affiliated with the Presbyterian church and enjoyed crocheting and knitting as a housewife.

Survivors include a son, Dean; a sister, Florence Campbell of Jamestown, North Dakota and two brothers, Floyd Eivins of Winterset and Doyle Eivins of Grimes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Claude and a sister, Mildred.

Funeral services for Gladys Binns were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. Rev. Alan Parker officiating.
