LOREN E. KALE of Truro Dies

Loren E. Kale of Truro, member of a widely known Madison County family and a leading citizen in his community, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 6, 1964, at his home in Truro. He was 54 years of age.

Mr. Kale was born in Truro June 26, 1910, a son of William D. and Olive Howe Kale. He was a graduate of the Truro high school and the College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, Mo.

His active life had been spent as a mortician and funeral director at Truro. He devoted a great deal of time and energy to the public and civic affairs of his community. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, Lions club, the Iowa Funeral Directors and Embalmers' association, a member of the board of directors of the Union State Bank at Winterset, a trustee of Madison county Memorial hospital here, president of the Interstate 35 school board, and a city councilman at Truro. He was a member of the Christian church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Etha Kale; a daughter Marolyn Jordan of Knoxville; a son, Denis Kale of Truro; two grandchildren, Stephen and Cynthia Jordan; and a brother, Marvin Kale of Lubbock, Texas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn, and a brother, Herbert Kale.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, in charge of the Rev. James Nicholson of Truro. Burial will be made in Ebenezer cemetery.

Services Thursday For Loren Kale

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday for Loren E. Kale, Truro Funeral director who died Monday at Truro.

Rev. James Nicholson of Truro officiated at the services at the Kale Funeral home, with burial in the Ebenezer cemetery at Truro.

The son of William Dawson and Olive Mae Howe Kale, Loren Kale was born June 26, 1910 at Truro. He was educated in the Truro schools, and was a graduate of the Truro High school and the college of Mortuary Science at St. Louis, Mo.

On August 15, 1931, he married Etha Freeman at Exira. Two children survive the marriage, a son Denis of Truro and a daughter Mrs. Marolyn Jordon of Knoxville. A daughter Carolyn preceded Mr. Kale in death.

Mr. Kale lived his entire life in Truro as mortician and director of the Kale Funeral home. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Lions club, Iowa Funeral Directors and Embalmers association, board of directors of the Union State Bank, trustee of the Madison County hospital, President of the Interstate 35 School Board and a member of the Truro City council. He was a member of the Truro Christian church.

Surviving relatives, in addition to his children include his wife Etha, son-in-law, Jerold Jordan, Knoxville; daughter-in-law Sandra, Truro; two grandchildren, Stephen and Cynthia Jordan; a brother Marvin Kale of Lubbock, Tex.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, daughter and a brother, Herbert.
