Helen Lillie, 77, of Greenfield, died April 17, 2004, at the McCreedy Nursing Home in Washington, Iowa.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial was at Greenfield Cemetery.

Helen Lillie was born Oct. 6, 1926, in Adair County to Henry and Orrill (Bunce) Endres. On Oct. 2, 1945, she was united in marriage to Dean Lillie at the First United Methodist Church in Des Moines. Helen helped her husband run a dairy farm. She also had worked for the Greenfield and Madison County hospitals and Winterset schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers Robert (at birth), Kenneth and Gaylord Endres; and one sister, Roberta Leader.

She is survived by three sons, Mike Lillie of West Chester, Mark Lillie of Winterset and David Lillie of Claremont, N.C.; two daughters, Linda Leonard of Keota and Janet Wagner of LeMars; a sister, Eudene Ernst of Greenfield; and 10 grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
