His boyhood was spent in Indiana and he came to Iowa with his parents, when twenty years of age. He returned to Indiana two years later and was married to Elizabeth Clingenpeel, in 1860. To them were born three sons and one daughter, George, Emanuel and Martha, who are deceased, and C. T. Graham, now living near Flora, Indiana.
They returned to Madison county a few years later and Mrs. Graham was soon taken sick and they took her back to Indiana, where she died within a few days.
A year later Mr. Graham returned to Madison county where he was married to Cordelia Harrell, in 1884. To this union was born one son, Zeller Graham, of Madison county. They lived on the same farm in Lincoln township for many years, where Mrs. Graham passed away February 2, 1929. Since her death he went back to Indiana, to make his home with his son, C. T. Graham.
He never united with the church, but was a firm believer in Christ and during his last days made an open confession of his faith. He was a good father and a thrifty, industrious farmer and home-maker, beloved by his neighbors and friends.
He became seriously sick two months before his death, which occurred Sunday, May 11, 1930, at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 9 days. He leaves beside his two sons, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one brother, Clay Graham, of Marshalltown.
Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Graham accompanied their father's body back to Winterset, where Rev. W. C. Porter conducted the funeral service at Tidrick's funeral home, Wednesday afternoon, May 14th, and the burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
