Death of Nathan Binns

Nathan Binns died on April 28, (1924) at his home in Webster township. He had not been in good health for three years, but his final illness lasted about six weeks.

Mr. Binns, who had lived in Madison County for more than forty years, was highly respected by his friends and neighbors. He was past seventy two years of age, and is survived by his father, his wife, Martha (Howard), and four children.

Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. R. Weed of Hebron. Evening Star lodge, A.F. & A.M. attended the funeral and gave the Masonic service at the grave. Burial took place in the Wight cemetery.

NATHAN BINNS - Obituary

Nathan Binns, son of Benjamin and Hannah Binns, was born in Yorkshire, Wakefield, England, Jan. 19th, 1852 and departed this life on April 28, 1924 at his home in Webster township, at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 9 days.

On June 17, 1890 (?) he was united in marriage to Miss Martha J. Howard. Seven children came to bless this home, two of these departing in infancy, William and Guye, leaving Everett L., Fred, Arthur, Marie and Alfred with their mother to mourn his departure. He leaves besides his wife and children, two brothers, B. S. of Webster township and J. W. of Oskaloosa, Iowa, his father, one grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.

He came to the United States with his parents at the age of six years and settled near Oskaloosa and later in Madison county where he died. His health had been failing for several years. With his wife he united with the Christian church at Webster thirty years ago.

Funeral services were held at the late home, Wednesday, April 20, conducted by Rev. A. R. Weed, with burial in the Wight cemetery.
