Page 1, Column 5Death of Sam Baker
Sam Baker died suddenly Tuesday afternoon, November 20th, about two thirty o'clock, at the home of his sister, Mrs. I. E. T. Wilson, on West Court avenue. He had been confined to the house since Friday, but his condition was not thought to be serious. Doctors attribute his death to heart trouble.
Mr. Baker was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Baker, and was born in this county, near Peru, 73 years ago. He made that community his home until the death of his mother, thirteen years ago. At that time he moved to Winterset and he has since made his home with his sister.
Rev. W. C. Porter will conduct the funeral services at the Methodist church, this afternoon (Thursday) at 1:30 o'clock, and burial will be made in the Peru cemetery. He is survived by four brothers and three sisters. Will of Peru; Sherman of Scott township; John of Des Moines; Eldon of Flint, Michigan; Mrs. F. A. Silliman of Indianola, and Mrs. I. E. T. Wilson and Mrs. George Black of Winterset.
