Funeral services for Nettie V. Binns, 99, who died October 7, 1990 at Bethesda Care Center, were held at First United Methodist Church on Wed., Oct. 10. The Rev. Zona Lautt officiated and burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

A Madison County resident since 1900, Nettie was born to Frank and Amanda (Spurgeon) Fuson in Polk County. Born June 13, 1891, she was married to Alfred Ray Binns on February 14, 1912.

She was a homemaker, member of the Macksburg Methodist Church for 21 years and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset since 1953.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, a sister and two grandsons.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald R. Binns of Council Bluffs, and Ted Binns of Glenwood Springs., Colo.; three daughters, Erma Lucas of Bishop, Calif., Gertrude Thomas of Des Moines and Norma Binns of Slidell, La.; one brother, Guy Fuson of Indianola, eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 35 great-great-grandchildren.
