Hugh A. Young, a Webster township farmer for more than half a century, died at his home in Winterset last Thursday, January 11, 1945, after a long period of failing health. He was 74 years of age.
Mr. Young was the son of William and Lucinda Young, and was born Nov. 11, 1870, in Warren county. He was married to Lillie E. Binns on Oct. 31, 1895. They made their home on a farm in Webster township where they lived for 51 years. For the past three years their home had been in Winterset.
In addition to his wife; he is survived by seven sons and one daughter. They are: Alfred Young of DeSoto, Ralph and Chester Young of Macksburg, Clarence Young of Murray, Hugh, Earl and Howard Young and Mrs. Ruth Eivins of Winterset. He also leaves two brothers, Oscar and William Young; and a sister, Mrs. J. L. Gamble, all of Winterset; and 33 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home last Saturday in charge of the Rev. Arthur Weed of Tingley. Burial was in the Wight Cemetery.

Hugh Allison Young, 75 year old Winterset resident, died at his home January 11 area he was the son of William and Lucinda Young and was born November 11, 1870 in Warren county.
He was married on October 31, 1895 to Lillie E. Binns and they were the parents of seven boys and one daughter. The sons are Alfred of De Soto, Ralph and Chester of Macksburg, Clarence of Murray, Hugh, Earl and Howard of Winterset. The daughter, Ruth Eivins, also resides here.
Besides his wife and children he is survived by two brothers, Oscar and William, one sister, Mrs. J. L. Gamble, all living in Winterset. There are 33 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Ramsey–Richards funeral home on Saturday, January 13. Arthur Weed of Tingley was in charge and burial was made in the Wight cemetery.
