Douglas Roy, son of Thomas and Priscilla Roy, was born Oct. 7, 1860, near Winterset. Here he spent most of his life and died Oct. 25, 1924 at his home in Winterset.

On Nov. 9, 1880, he was married to Frances E. Grenard. To this union were born six children: James, who died March 2, 1920; Mrs. Chas. Beeler of Winterset; Willard, who died in 1892 at the age of 3 years; Mrs. M. E. Burkhart of Anita, and Edna and William Roy of Albuquerque, N. M. He leaves a wife, four children, six grandchildren and one brother, who lives in Dayton, Wash.

Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. McCallon. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
