Elizabeth Alexander was born in Putman county, Indiana, May 31, 1852 and came to Iowa with her parents in 1857. She was united in marriage to Thomas Cummins, in 1873, who passed away Dec. 19th, just one week prior to the time of her death, which occurred Dec. 26th. To this union was born six children, five of whom surviver her: Mrs. Frank Clark, Mrs. Dean Glenn, Charlie, Will and Frank; also three sisters and one brother: Mrs. John Beal of Elds Prairie, Mo.; Mrs. John Reed of near Macksburg, and Mrs. S. J. Callison of Winterset, and Frank Alexander of Los Angeles, Calif.
She united with the Methodist church in her early girlhood and lived a Christian life till death called her home. She was loved by all who knew her for her patience through her long suffering. She gave her life in sacrifice and care of her husband and children and her memory will live forever. Funeral services were conducted from the home by Rev. B. B. Burton.
