MORTUARY

George McGlothlen was born Aug. 15, 1853, in Fountain county, Indiana. He moved with his mother to Polk county, Iowa, about 1871, later moving to Madison county.

He was married to Emma Norris. To this union two children were born, Fred, who died Jan. 13, 1900, and Ora of Valley Junction. Mrs. McGlothlen died May 22, 1901, while living in Macksburg.

In 1903 he was married to Mrs. Lizzie Killian, who with a stepson survives him. Their home has been near Lorimor, where they have prospered and lived happily. Recently his health began gradually to fail. He grew worse until on Oct. 5 he passed away at the hospital in Winterset at the age of 67 years, 1 month and 20 days.

When about 30 years of age he united with the Methodist church at Wesley chapel. He leaves to mourn his death the companion, the son, Ora, stepson, Asa Killian, three brothers and other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church by Rev. Jackson Giddens, the pastor, and the remains were laid to rest in the Wight cemetery.
