Lester Everly Freeman, 84, of Truro died of Alzheimers on Nov. 21, 1997 at Care Center North in Winterset. Funeral services were Nov. 24 at Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Reverend Joan White officiating. Burial followed at Peru Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 16, 1913 in New Virginia, to Chester and Emma (Poush) Freeman. He attended Truro schools. In February of 1937, he married Bernice Beverlin in Des Moines. He was employed on the Natural Gas Pipeline in Truro and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Truro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, a brother and a granddaughter.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Dee Stites and husband Jerry of Nekoosa, Wis., and Sharon Breeding and husband Wayne of Highlands Ranch, Co., two sons, Vic Freeman and wife Susan of Ankeny, and Scott Freeman and wife Moni of Truro; one sister, Thelma Olmsted of Oxnard, Calif.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
