Benjamin Forrest Beedle, 87, of Afton died of heart failure May 21, 1998, at Greater Community Hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. May 26 at the Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Avenue, with the Rev. Robert Sauser, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Creston, officiating. Burial will be in the Peru Cemetery in Peru. There is open visitation after 3:30 p.m. Monday with the family receiving friends 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral Home in Creston. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church of C.A.R.E. in Afton.
Mr. Beedle was born Jan. 27, 1911, to John and Anna (Blanchard) Beedle. He attended Creston area schools. During early years he worked for area farmers. He lived most of his live (life) in the Creston area and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Creston.
Survivors include four nephews, E.J. (wife Linda) Johnson of Creston, Lawrence (wife Elizabeth) Keller of New Lenox, Ill., Clarence (wife Sharon) Keller of Kent and Don (wife Mary) Keller of Lorimor, and two nieces, Rosalie Blue and Virginia Pierce of Creston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Amos Beedle, and two sisters, Dora Johnson and Rhonda Keller.
