Linda L. Thompson, Winterset

Linda L. thompson, 48, of Winterset died of cancer Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, at the Macksburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Neil Platon officiating. Burial will be at Peru Cemetery.

Linda Thompson was born March 15, 1950, at Osceola to Richard Dean and Mary Lois (Decker) Dillinger. She married Sam Thompson on Dec. 31, 1984, at Lorimor. She had been a resident of Winterset for the past six years, having moved from Lorimor. Linda was a bank teller at Farmers & Merchants State Bank in Winterset. She also belonged to the Farmers & Merchants Bowling League, Social Circle Club and the Macksburg United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

She is survived by her parents of Peru; her husband; two sons, Richie McKinney (friend Cheryl) of West Des Moines and Jonni Jo Holtry (wife Barbie) of Lorimor; two daughters, Sherri Munoz of Winterset and Laura Forret (husband Eric) of Waukee; one brother, Dick Dillinger of Lorimor, one sister, Sharon Holtry, also of Lorimor, grandparents Verl and Inez Dillinger of Peru; and eight grandchildren.
