Teddy Roland, Truro

Teddy Michel Roland, 88, of Truro, died of cancer Feb. 22, 1997 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Pastor John Shaull will officiate the services and burial will be at the Peru Cemetery.

He was born in Knoxville on March 17, 1908 to Hiram G. and Emma L. (Gray) Roland. He had attended Knoxville Schools and had taught Sunday School there for 10 years. He married Buena Brees in Knoxville on Dec. 10, 1928. He had been employed for 30 years as a welder at Natual Gas Pipeline Co. He had been a resident of Truro since 1945.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; seven sisters, and six brothers.

Surviving relatives include his wife of Truro; one daughter, Joana Mease and husband John of Truro; one son-in-law, Walter G. Brant, Sr. of Osceola; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great- grandchildren.
