September 2, 1997Wilson John Datwyler, 85, of Peru died of a heart ailment Sunday at Des Moines General Hospital. The body was cremated, and graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peru Cemetery.
Mr. Datwyler, a lifelong resident of Madison County, was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Model Lodge at St. Charles and the United Methodist Church of Peru. He also had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star.
He is survived by a son, Keith of Peru; three sisters, Velma Struve of Irwin, and Laura Clague and Edna Wolverton, both of Winterset; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the High School Rodeo Association or the American Heart Association. Kale Funeral Home in Truro is handling arrangements.
