Death of Mrs. Kingery

Mrs. G. W. Kingery died Sunday, July 21st, at her home at 704 West South street, at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 28 days. Mrs. Kingery moved to Winterset nine years ago. She had been in ill health for the past year, becoming worse several weeks ago.

She was born at Utica, Illinois, on January 23, 1865, and married at the age of nineteen years to Albert J. Leech. She came with her family to Calhoun county, Iowa, in 1897. In 1900, she was married to George W. Kingery. Mrs. Kingery was an active worker in her church and a member of the Sunday school and Missionary society.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 o’clock, at the Church of Christ, by the Rev. F. C. McCallon, assisted by Rev. H. L. Olmstead. Burial was in the Macksburg cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, George W. Kingery, Mrs. Leslie C. Dysart, of Granville, Illinois; Mrs. LeRoy Clark and Ward E. Leech, of Ipswich, South Dakota; J. Cecil Leech , of Laclede, Missouri; Mrs. Cloyde Mills and Wright Kingery, of Winterset; Mrs. Wm. King, of Macksburg; Mrs. John Strop and Mrs. Wm. Kunnath, of Creston, and Mrs. Edgar Clague, of Earlham, 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Geo. W. Kingery

Laura Marcella Cook was born at Utica, Illinois, on January 23, 1865, and died at her home in Winterset on July 21, 1929, at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 28 days.

She was married at the age of 19 years to Albert J. Leech, of Utica, Illinois. To this union five children were born. One, Prudence, died in infancy. Of the four living, the oldest, Mrs. Leslie C. Dysart, resides at Granville, Illinois; Mrs. Lee Roy Clark and Ward E. Leech at Ipswich, South Dakota, and J. Cecil Leech, at Laclede, Missouri. She came with her family to Calhoun county in 1897.

She was married to Geo. W. Kingery in October, 1900. To this union three children were born: Mrs. Cloyde Mills and Wright, both of Winterset; the other dying in infancy. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her loss, four step-daughters, Mrs. Wm. King, of Macksburg; Mrs. John Strop and Mrs. Wm. Kunath, of Creston, and Mrs. Edgar Clague of Earlham; 22 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She united with the Baptist church of Utica, Illinois, at an early age and has been active in Christian work all her life. She had been a member of the Church of Christ of Winterset, since moving here nine years ago, and also belonged to the Loyal Women's class and Missionary society.
