Page 1Death of Mrs. C. N. VanHosen
Mrs. C. N. VanHosen, a former resident of this community, and a sister of Tom and Will Scott, died after a short illness, Thursday, April 5th, at her home in Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. VanHosen was said to have had hardening of the arteries, and to have died very suddenly. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 8th, and burial was made at Springfield.
The deceased was survived by a granddaughter, Ena Cornelia Kintrea, who made her home with her, the two brothers of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Hettie Leggett of St. Charles, and another brother, Ed, of Arkansas City, Kansas. Mr. VanHosen died in 1912.
Will Scott and Mrs. Hettie Leggett went to attend the funeral services.

Former Madison County Resident Succumbs After Short Illness – Funeral Services Held Sunday
Mrs. C. N. Van Hosen, sixty-six years old, died April fifth at her home in Springfield, Missouri; death was ascribed to hardening of the arteries of the heart. Funeral services were held Sunday and burial was in Springfield.
Mrs. Van Hosen, who before her marriage was Miss Rebecca Scott, formerly of St. Charles, was well known in the county where her girlhood was spent.
Her husband’s death occurred in 1913 and she is survived by her grand daughter, Ena Cornelia Kintrea, who has made her home with her grandmother a number of years, her brothers T. M. Scott and W. R. Scott, of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Charles Leggert, of St. Charles, and another brother, Edward Scott, of Arkansas City, Kansas.
