Death of Edmond B. Fritz

Edmond B. Fritz, for many years a resident of Winterset, and Madison county, died Monday, May 20th, at the Harken hospital in Osceola, after an illness of several months. Mr. Fritz gave up strenuous work a number of years ago, because of his health but his condition was not thought to be critical. Several months ago he went to Osceola and entered the hospital for treatment. Sunday, he became critically ill, with stomach trouble and other complications.

Mr. Fritz was 61 years of age. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Fritz and was born in Cedar county, Iowa, July 27, 1867. When he was a baby the family moved to Madison township, in Madison county. He made his home on the farm, with his parents, for a number of years. After the death of his parents, he and his brother, Clarence, remained on the farm. He came to Winterset, because of failing health, 20 years ago, and had since made this town his home. He had several times, spent a few months with his brother, Luther, in Greenfield, and with other relatives. He was never married.

Mr. Fritz united with the Methodist church in Winterset, many years ago. One brother, Whitfield, passed away in 1905. He is survived by four brothers and two sisters; Luther of Greenfield; John of Atlantic; Joseph of Roscoe, South Dakota, and Clarence of Menlo, and Mrs. Mary E. Dermo of Elbert, Colorado, and Mrs. A. M. Everett of Atkinson, Nebraska.

The Rev. A. P. Keast will conduct the funeral services in the Winterset Methodist church, Thursday morning, May 23, and burial will be in the Worthington cemetery.
