Mary L. Chapman, 74, died at Iowa Lutheran Hospital on November 15, 1993. Funeral services were held at Collins Funeral Home today, Wed. Nov. 17 with the Pastor Jess Spencer officiating. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery.
She was born July 17, 1919 in Peru to Thomas J. and Marie E. (Smith) Kephart. She married Roy Chapman on February 21, 1944 in Winterset. She was a homemaker living most of her life in Madison County.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Alvin and Jim Kephart; and three sisters, Mabel Diggs, Sadie McKinney and Mildred Majava.
Surviving relatives include one son, Ronald E. Chapman and wife Maryellen of Des Moines; two brothers, Tom Kephart of Spencer, Anderson Kephart of Winterset; two sisters, Edna Kephart of Winterset, Hazel Snell of Greenfield; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.
