Diane Kay Vasey, Martensdale

Funeral services for Diane Kay Vasey, of Martensdale, were held Monday, Aug. 21, at 10:30 a.m. from Kale Funeral home in Truro. She died Aug. 18 at Care Center North in Winterset at the age of 23 of cancer.

A daughter of Ralph and Betty Freeborn Vasey, she was born April 2, 1966 in Osceola. She was a 1984 graduate of Interstate 35 high school, and had worked at Regency Care Center in Norwalk and Westview in Indianola.

She was a member of the Church of Christ at Truro.

Surviving are her parents of St. Charles; a brother, David Vasey and a sister, Dana Vasey, both of St. Charles; two grandmothers, Eva Vasey of Truro and Minnie Brown of Indianola.

She was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Ivan Vasey of Truro and George Freeborn of Indianola.

Officiating at the funeral Monday was Pastor John Long of Indianola. Burial was in Peru cemetery.
