Services for Louis Aloysius Lehmer, 75, rural St. Charles, who died Aug. 8 at the Bethesda Care Center in Winterset, were held Friday, Aug. 11, at the Kale Funeral Home with the Rev. David Carscadden of Adel officiating. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery.
Born Aug. 14, 1913 at Rulo, Nebr., he was the son of John and Margaret Berg Lehmer. He attended St. Charles schools and was married to Eula Buecher on March 1, 1935 at Grant City, Mo.
He farmed all his life and moved to St. Charles in 1947 and retired in 1977.
Survivors include sons, Louis and wife Barbara of Columbia, Mo., Jerry and wife Carol of Peru, Thomas and wife Mary of Peru, and Roy and wife Tala of St. Charles; daughers, Delores Carney and husband Dennis of Urbandale, Virginia L. Randall and husband Jack of Adel, Rita Winkel and husband Art of Monument, Colo., Gwendolyn E Lafferty of Harbor, Wash., Linda Sue Callison of Longmont, Colo., and Alberta Marie Callahan and husband Gordon of Omaha, Neb.; 24 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Theresa Vavra of West Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, a son, a brother and a sister.
