Merle "Andy" Anderson, 72, of 1800 Watrous Ave. died of pneumonia Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be noon Monday at Southtown Funeral Home. Burial will be at Clark Cemetery southwest of Winterset.
Mr. Anderson was born in Estherville and lived in Waukegan, Ill., before moving to Des Moines 13 years ago. He retired from the Navy and served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys; and a sister, Shirley Fulton of Folsom, Calif.
Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
