Margaret J. Evison

Margaret Jane Evison, 88, of Winterset died April 3, 2000, at the Winterset Care Center South.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. April 6 at the Baptist Church in Lorimor. The Rev. George Henriksen of Ankeny will officiate with burial in the Union Cemetery in Clarke County. There is open visitation after 9 a.m. Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. Eastern Star service and the family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main Street, Osceola. Memorials may be directed to the Baptist Church in Lorimor.

Mrs. Evison was born Dec. 9, 1911, in Murray to Francis "Frank" and Margaret Louisa (Iiams) Kirk. She attended Brush College near Murray through the eighth grade. On Nov. 18, 1936, she married William "Bill" Ezra Evison in Winterset. She was a homemaker and lived in Truro since 1942 and moved to the Winterset Care Center South two years ago. She was a member of the Oak Run Circle in Truro, Order of Eastern Star in Winterset and attended the Madison Chapel Church before becoming a member of the Baptist Church in Lorimor.

Survivors include two sons, Rex (wife Mary Ann) Evison of Murray and Carol (wife DeeDee) Evison of Des Moines; a daughter, Connie (husband James) Maw of Winterset; a sister-in-law, Merle McMichael of Truro; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1996; four sisters, Marie Evans, Ruth Garrett, Irene Adcock and Frances Schoonover, and two brothers, John and Clayton Kirk.
