WintersetRalph Burgan, 96, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Saturday at Integrated Health Services there. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with burial at East Union Cemetery in Clarke County.
Mr. Burgan was born in Barney and had lived in Winterset and Madison County for the past 21 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of Church of Nazarene in Winterset and Men of Vision, and had served on school boards, county fair boards and election boards.
Surviving are three sons, Donald and Virgil, both of Des Moines, and Gerald of Glenwood; a daugher, Iola Marie Seekins of Jonesboro, Ind.; a brother, John of Rialto, Calif.; two sisters, Kate Baker of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Rachel Byrum of Anderson, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Men of Vision.
